LAMI-5 Gen Silicone Sheet
An exceptional silicone rubber sheet, the LAMI-5 Gen features a unique membrane design, consisting of a silicone backing material with a distinct covering layer. The structure provides a clear view of its composition:
- Layer 1: Black EVA-resistant FKM – Working layer
- Layer 2: 1-ply premium aramid fabric reinforcement
- Layer 3: Grey silicone – Buffering layer
The combination of the black covering layer with the grey silicone ensures excellent EVA resistance and extended life cycle performance, even in demanding applications.
Solar Silicone Membrane FAQs
1. Is your silicone sheet with or without a splice?
Our state-of-the-art, super-wide calenders ensure that our silicone membranes are free of seam marks, delivering a clean and efficient lamination process for solar PV panels. Many customers prefer our membrane sheets for their solar photovoltaic module lamination needs.
2. Is the membrane’s surface finish smooth or textured?
We find that surface finish is largely a matter of preference, as there is no substantial evidence favoring one over the other. Some customers prefer a fabric impression on one side for better venting during hot and sticky conditions, while others choose a smooth finish on both sides. The physical properties remain consistent regardless of surface finish or color.
3. How can we extend the lifespan of our sheets?
To extend sheet life, we recommend using a layer of PTFE fabric resistant to high temperatures between the PV panels and the membrane, typically with a thickness of 0.25mm or 0.35mm.
4. What is the best rubber sheeting for solar photovoltaic module lamination?
This depends on several factors, such as encapsulant type, module composition, size, laminator brand, and budget. We encourage face-to-face discussions to determine the best solution. Our products are known for their excellent value and competitive pricing, which provide customers with more for their investment.
5. How long should a membrane sheet last?
Typically, our LAMI-3 Gen sheet can last up to 4,000 cycles, while the LAMI-5 Gen can last up to 10,000 cycles, depending on environmental conditions and machine settings. As many variables are beyond our control, an exact cycle life cannot be guaranteed.
6. What is your standard packaging?
For orders of 1-5 sheets, the standard packaging is woven bags. For larger quantities, sheets are rolled inside a cardboard tube and then placed on pallets or in wooden cases. Upon receipt, please inspect and unfold the sheets to check for any surface damage.
7. Does color affect membrane performance?
Based on customer feedback, color does not impact performance. Different colors are used to distinguish between suppliers.
8. How should silicone rubber membranes be stored?
After inspection upon receipt, store the membranes in their original packaging. The storage temperature should be below 25°C, away from direct heat sources like boilers or sunlight.
9. How can we differentiate between solar silicone sheets?
As technology evolves, three types of silicone membranes are available for the solar industry. Please refer to our technical data sheet for further distinctions.
